Literary Magazine
The SHS Literary Magazine, “Verbatim,” is a student publication that showcases SHS students’ work. The literary magazine allows students to apply a wide range of strategies to show comprehension, interpretation, evaluation, and appreciation of writing. The publication provides students with a place to see their writing in print. It gives them a sense of audience, which is crucial for young writers, and it can foster a community of young writers and give them status.
Submissions may include (but are not limited to) poetry, prose excerpts, photography, song lyrics, photography, and art. Sometimes we partner with our Americana program and include a student CD.
